Meaning behind the colours of Enby Flag:
- Yellow stands for not fitting into the binary.
- Since white is the presence of all light in the visible spectrum, it represents all genders.
- Purple symbolises gender fluidity and diversity, the individuality and adaptability of non-binary people, and those whose gender experiences include being of or between female and male.
- Since all visible light is absent in the colour black, it symbolises the absence of gender.
What does enby mean?
A person who identifies as non-binary is one who does not fit neatly into either the male or female “binary” gender categories. Binary simply refers to something that has two distinct pieces.
They believe they don’t cleanly fit into either of the two gender categories that have been assigned, male or female. While some non-binary individuals identify as neither male nor female, others do.
It’s crucial to keep in mind that a person’s sex, which is determined by physical biology, is distinct from their gender. Additionally, it is not about a person’s attraction to someone based on their sexuality.
Whether a person identifies as male, female, or anything else, their gender is dependent on their sense of self.
The phrase “non-binary” covers a wide range of identities. The word “genderfluid” describes non-binary persons who experience gender shifts throughout time.
What Pronouns Are Used By Enby People?
Others will use many pronouns, while some Enby people may only use one. Some enby persons choose to use the pronouns they/them, while others occasionally use he/him or she/her. In the end, it comes down to personal preference, and the best method to learn which pronouns an Enby person prefers is to ask them!
