Get comfortable. You can sit or lie down on a surface and ensure you’re comfortable. Use support for your legs or back, whatever you need. Choose a posture that relaxes your body and take your time with it.
Make it a routine. Choose a time that is convenient for you and decide to follow it everyday. If you want to pick a spot in your house where you are at peace, that is great as well. Try doing this to make it a routine, so that soon enough, you can meditate anytime, anywhere.
Stay in the moment. Mindfulness refers to bringing all your attention into the present moment. As you start following your guided meditation for relaxation, healing, stress or anxiety, it is important to try and engage all your senses. This includes taste and smell to truly experience the moment. Practicing mindfulness will help you understand your body’s responses, what needs attention and can help you in healing it.
Focus on your breath. In case you’re unsure of what to do or feel your mind not being able to focus, a simple way to meditate is via breathing meditation. Breathe normally and just keep your attention on your breath and allow it to lead your mind. You can sense your body movements to the breath and do nothing else and allow thoughts to come and go. This is a simple and effective way to meditate as a beginner and will leave you refreshed and balanced.
