Imagine leaves down the stream. Sit comfortably, close your eyes and imagine a flowing stream. There are leaves on the surface of the stream. For each thought that comes to your mind, imagine it going onto the leaf and then flowing downstream away from sight. Do this for 2 minutes, letting every thought in your mind float downstream. This will help you stay in the present moment, relieve pressure and get rid of unwanted thoughts. As a result, you will clear your mind, improve focus and be balanced again.
Memorise the room. Look around your room or surroundings and see everything that’s present. Every object, every small detail. Maybe there’s a chip of paint or the poster on the wall is a bit wrinkled. Notice every possible detail. Once you’re ready, close your eyes for a minute and visualise your room. How many objects can you remember? What all comes to your mind? Have you been able to memorise what’s in your room? Stay in the moment as you answer all these questions and notice the room with your eyes closed. This is a simple hack to get rid of thoughts, clear your mind and improve focus.
Pause and recharge. Look around your room and notice 5 things you can see, 4 objects you can touch, 3 sounds you can hear, 2 things you can taste and 1 thing you can smell. This will help you stay in the present, calm your thoughts and reduce any stress or anxiety. This is a simple way to take a pause during your hectic day, declutter your mind and give yourself a quick boost of energy. Colour game. Look around the room and try to name 5 red objects and then 5 blue objects. If possible, name 5 more red objects. If you’re unable to do so, pick a new colour combination and start naming objects of that colour. To make it even more challenging, scan the room you’re in, memorise it and do this exercise with your eyes closed. This will help you focus your energy in the present moment rather than that thoughts bothering you. As a result, you’ll be able to sharpen your memory clear your mind and improve focus!
